The Laver Cup, which was announced in August 2016, is tennis's answer to golf's Ryder Cup and pits Team Europe against Team World. It is one of a number of new tennis events that has sprung up in the last few years to shake up the conventional tennis calendar, such as the Next Gen ATP Finals and Tie Break Tens.
